Dr. Julian Schmitt from the Institute of Applied Physics receives the Wissenschaftspreis 2024 of the Industrie-Club Düsseldorf for his groundbreaking research on quantum gases of photons, which on the one hand expand the understanding of quantum states in fundamental science and on the other hand can produce new technological components for the sensor technology or control of laser beams.
Since 1998, the club has been awarding the "Wissenschaftspreis des Industrie-Clubs" in cooperation with the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts. The prize, which is awarded in different specialist areas, aims to promote innovative scientific research that deserves to be implemented in industrial production or the further development of production processes. It is aimed at young scientists in NRW and is endowed with EUR 20,000.
Congratulations, Julian!
